What do you do with a scurvy pirate? Make them walk the plank!
Another way to erradicate scurvy in the high seas is lime juice. And to make it more palatable (and most definitely more fun to drink), gin was thrown into the mix. These two ingredients make up the traditional gimlet. My gimlet recipe, adapted from a 70s Seagrams party book, still manages to shiver me timbers!

(makes two)
2½ ounces gin
1 ounce triple sec
1 ounce each lemon & lime juices
simple syrup to taste
shake in a mixer with ice, strain into glass
garnish with either a lime wedge, or one green & one red maraschino cherry
And now, one of my favourite pirate sounding songs (not the official video):

mmmmm. gimlets…good for playing Wii and for Oscar-red-carpet-watching!
Note: this song fades out. And I like it.
