Not sure if you know, but Nightwood is proudly independent, so we’re working on lots of stuff right now to promote Carta Marina. Stuff like booking shows, learning how to make cardboard Ts to ship vinyl in the mail, investigating gear, songwriting and stuff like that. Just to let youse know.
This week keep your eyes peeled here on the site for song lyrics as well as more Dressed in Black style interviews, show announcements, etc, etc, etc…..

If yer in Ottawa this Thursday, come check out the Double Negative Collective experimental film screening at Saw! This is the film collective Amber is part of and whose grants and writings Erin always copy-edits…yeah!
- “In an age of big business financed, industry-based, capital-oriented film production, Double Negative Collective represents an innovative and much-needed alternative. Where the Industry model dominates discourse and puts a premium on instant recognition, the generation of capital, and the consolidation of power, the twelve filmmakers that comprise Double Negative participate in a democratic discussion on film/video form, aesthetics, and politics – in brief, the past, present, and (possible) future(s) of cinema. The fourteen works chosen for this exhibition represent the challenge posed by Double Negative to much of the current stagnation of film in the 21st Century. (Scott Birdwise, Programmer)”
